18. Clay Tobacco Pipe Museum | Broseley Pipe Works

Broseley Pipe Works closed in the late 1950s, when the buildings were abandoned complete with all equipment for making clay tobacco pipes inside. In 1993 renovation of the buildings into a time capsule and Museum began. Within the locality of the famous Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, this is one of 10 Museums presently in the care of the Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust, which together tell the story of the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution in the mid-18th century. NOTE: In March 2026, the National Trust will take control of the 10 Museums and 35 Listed Buildings run by the Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust.
