Steam Shuttles to a City Festival Moomba Shuttles 2025 Steamrail A2986 & K183 Hello all, Welcome to a Victoria heritage train video. Today we head out for the first steam tour of the 2025 heritage season. During the Labour Day long weekend, Steamrail Victoria operated two days of steam shuttles between Flinders Street and Glen Huntly. These were run along with the annual Moomba Festival organised by the City of Melbourne during the coinciding long weekend. Six shuttles were run each day beginning from 9:40AM. The 50-minute return trips travelled down the Caulfield Through Lines to the recently grade-separated Glen Huntly Station. Locomotives A2986 and K183 operated in top-and-tail formation for the shuttles. We begin our video in Southbank for the transfer, then continued with the chase south-east. The majority of the clips were captured on the first day of the shuttles. Some of the clips from the lunch transfer, shuttle five, and all clips from the intermission were recorded on day two.
