As promised, here’s our speaking activity for Articles (the, a/an) 🧑🏼🏫💐👩🏻🎓 Our goal here is to activate articles in the speech of our students Now do check first out my teaching tips video on a technique for articles: • Teaching Tips for Articles (the, a/an) We want to give them ample opportunity to express themselves and to practice using the definite and indefinite articles How are we going to achieve that? 🤔 When do we clearly differentiate between the uses of THE and A/AN in communication? 🤓 Well, this activity is simply called “It’s the one I was telling you about” 🤣 Student A is going to draw Student B’s attention to an item on a card Student B is going to respond with surprise stating that “it’s just a (item)” To which Student A responds “Remember! It’s the (item) I was telling you about the other day!” Student A and Student B carry on a short conversation with A explaining what’s so special about this particular item and B asking questions and getting more details Let’s take a pen as an item for instance I could carry on the conversation telling you this is my mom’s favourite pen, or the pen I wrote my final exams with, or even my lucky pen 😎 In any case, we will have plenty of opportunities to differentiate between AN item and THE item within the short conversation 😊 Needless to say, this activity is going to bring up some great creative ideas from and properly activate articles All our activities for English teachers are on our website red.Resource-Education.com 👍 Subscribe there for more and more and thousands more brilliant EFL/ESL activities #elt #efl #esl #articles #activities #forteachers #fluency #accuratefluency #fluentaccuracy #buildingfluency
