Happy New Year! 🍾 Today I'm showing you a riff on the Soyer au Champagne! This is the perfect cocktail for ringing in the new year! It combines cognac and liqueurs with decadent ice cream and celebratory champagne - you gotta love that. The original recipe was said to be a favorite of Queen Victoria. I'll be honest, I don't think the queen and I would've shared the same tastes in cocktails. At first, I didn’t love the Soyer au Champagne - so I substituted the maraschino liqueur from the original recipe with Bénédictine. The Bénédictine offered a honey richness I found better connected the bright bubbles with the rich ice cream (for this same reason, I strongly recommend using Grand Marnier over a drier triple sec).
