My Latest Make - Simplicity 8606 - March 2021

This week I'm sharing my latest make the long version of Simplicity 8606 with a super pretty flounce in our John Kaldor crepe de chine, perfect for Spring. It was a very simple sew, although I chose to line it with white polycotton since the crepe de chine was a little too sheer for a skirt! I'll show you how I lined it and also talk you through a special tip I used for getting the stiffness of the waistband just right. Paired with a simple Tshirt, trainers and my trusty leather jacket it feels like a great contemporary look that is casual enough to wear every day. I'll also give you a sneak peek of my next dressmaking project too, I'm finally recreating the ready to wear blouse so many of you loved in previous vlogs. There are some lovely interesting design details I'm adding, which will be a lot of fun to sew plus I'll show you one of Angela's recent makes a knit skirt with a flounce in a very Spring friendly weight fabric.
