This is some very nice footage of a mostly complete ride on "it's a small world" at Disneyland from January 1992. I know this is January because not only is the date on the video, but this was also one of the latest videos I have seen from before Mattel became the new sponsor a couple months later in the Spring of that year. While I have seen a couple other videos from January of 1992, this is still really cool because it not only shows most of the ride in all of it's beauty, but it also shows a very good perspective of being on the ride back then. This footage is rare for that reason. They were still using the original 1964/66 Bobby Hammock soundtrack at this time, and would switch to the John Debney soundtrack in 1993 only to return to Bobby Hammock soundtrack ten years later. It wasn't completely original, because there were a few changes in several scenes between the 70's and early-80's but many of the soundtracks heard here had been recorded for the original 1964-65 World's Fair version of "it's a small world". The only exception was the English chorus, which actually did make up roughly half of the ride back then and was recorded in the mid-70's to replace the 1964 English chorus first in the hello/finale/goodbye rooms in c.1976, and then the 1964 Africa and South Seas English chorus, plus the 1964 Japanese chorus in c.1981. Also, the façade mostly still had the original while and gold colors, as well as the blue accents on the clock tower (added in 1977) and the original queue layout. Most of the hello and goodbye rooms also still have the 80's versions that would be replaced with the current versions in the late-90's, except for the heraldic banners in the second half, which were already replaced with the sea serpent and children of the world that are still there today. This is really amazing footage and I'm happy to share it with you so I hope you enjoy this rare footage. I do not own any of the video seen here.
