On this adventure, I took a late afternoon visit to the awesome Hanging Rock State Park near Danbury in Stokes County, North Carolina. I hiked the 4.3 mile Moore's Wall Loop Trail. The trail begins at the large parking lot by the lake access/swimming area. Much of the trail is also hosting a portion of the Mountains-to-the-Sea trail. I took the loop in a counter-clockwise direction and just past the lake, the trail begins a steep ascent up Moore's Knob. This part of the trail is about 80% rock stairs and is very strenuous. At the summit area I checked out Balance Rock and the look-out tower. Once back on the loop trail, I continued across the crest of Moore's Knob and descended the mountain along Huckleberry Ridge, then finally ending up back at the lake. This is a really nice trail, and a great North Carolina state park. Thanks for watching!!!
