1957 - 1958 Get Your Kicks on Route 66 Context: The Ralph and JoAnn Hawley family traveled West several times over the years between 1951 and 1961. This particular Trip West took place between December 1957 and January 1958 and followed Route 66 through Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California. Ralph and JoAnn had just purchased a new Trotwood travel trailer, and it was towed by a relatively new Chevrolet Station Wagon. A Hawley Family Reunion took place in Arlington and San Bernardino, California in January 1958, before we headed back home to a very cold and wintery Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The family took in Disneyland with Grandma Wills while in California. The Hawley family moved to Gallup, New Mexico in March 1968, and to Las Vegas, Nevada during the summer of 1969. By then, the little towns and sights along Route 66 had become all too familiar... Albuquerque, Grants, and Gallup, New Mexico - Window Rock, Winslow, Snow Flake, Show Low, Flagstaff, Williams and Kingman, Arizona. Thus, the choice of music - Get Your Kicks on Route 66.
