Life continues to look bright at the JB Sands Wetlands nest as JBS24 grows into a strong and confident young eaglet. Before we dive in, a quick note for viewers: the livestream from the JB Sands Wetlands Center has been a bit glitchy lately. The camera team is aware and actively working on the issue, but it has occasionally made capturing smooth clips a little tricky. Thankfully, I did still manage to collect some wonderful recent moments from the nest! JBS24 is clearly thriving, showing off increasingly impressive wingercize sessions, exploring the nest, and spending lots of quality time with Mom & Dad. The young eaglet can often be seen curiously picking at nesting materials or quietly observing while the parents demonstrate the finer points of nestorations. As always, Mom & Dad continue to prove what an exceptional team they are - working seamlessly together to provide food, protection, and guidance for their growing youngster. One particularly hilarious moment dominates much of this video: 5:11 – Double Fish Disaster! Mom and Dad arrive at nearly the same time, each carrying a very fresh, very lively fish. What follows is pure chaos as the fish begin flopping wildly around the nest… and ultimately flip themselves right out of it! For a moment, the whole family looks around in confusion as if to ask: “Wait… where did our lunch go?” Thankfully, Dad quickly saves the day. He launches from the nest and soon returns with a successfully secured fish meal, restoring order - and lunch - to the family.
