Experience the 10-day shutdown on the East-West Line (EWL) where the journey to Changi Airport takes an unexpected turn! 🇸🇬🚆 In this video, I document the unique transport arrangements — 3 EWL separate train services and 1 rail replacement bus route — keeping the airport connection alive during the closure. From 9 December 2025, eastbound East–West Line (EWL) trains towards Pasir Ris will use the new Platform A at Tanah Merah MRT, marking the end of a simple cross-platform transfer to Changi Airport. Future transfers between Pasir Ris-bound trains and Changi Airport-bound trains will be via the ground level station concourse instead of a simple cross-platform hop. To prepare for this, LTA and SMRT will be carrying out major track works from 29 November to 8 December 2025 to connect the EWL tracks to the East Coast Integrated Depot (ECID) and the new platform at Tanah Merah. During this period, Simei and Tanah Merah stations will be closed, and there will be no train service between Bedok and Tampines, and between Tanah Merah and Expo. Shuttle buses will be provided: 🚍 Shuttle 7: Bedok ↔ Tampines (every 3–5 minutes) 🚍 Shuttle 8: Bedok ↔ Expo (about every 10 minutes) Train frequencies will be reduced to: 🚆 Shuttle Train every 5 minutes between Tampines and Pasir Ris 🚆 Shuttle Train every 8 minutes between Paya Lebar and Bedok 🚆 Shuttle Train every 5 minutes (peak) between Expo and Changi Airport After the works, eastbound trains to Pasir Ris will use the new Platform A, and cross-platform transfers to the airport will not be possible until the Changi Airport Extension becomes the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL). 🚆 More journeys: https://railtravelstation.com/   / railtravelstation   Please like, share, and subscribe to support this channel.
