In a true celebration of heritage vehicles, the 'Vintage Transport Extravaganza' at the Severn Valley Railway brought together a wide variety of classic traction in an effort to showcase the machines of the past, in the present day. Along the line, each station played host to a variety of vintage traction, including steam traction engines and classic cars. The former, could be found at Kidderminster, while the latter was spread out between Kidderminster, Bewdley, Arley and Highly; recreating the atmosphere of a bygone era. The timetable for the event was a modified version of the railways Table B, with an added empty coaching stock move and a light locomotive run. Table B is comprised of three main 'journeys'; the Flyer and the Explorer departing from Kidderminster, and the Adventurer departing from Bridgnorth. The Explorer was in the hands of 4MT - 75069, while the Adventurer was taken by 'Pannier Tank' - 1501. The Flyer duties were split over the course of the day between Ivatt - 43106 and 'Pannier Tank' - 7714. Class 40 - 40106 also made a brief appearance, working a light movement from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster. During the visit, a brief excursion was made into The Engine House at Highley - primarily, to see long-missed RH&DR Pacific - No7 "Typhoon". The pacific lining parallel with WD Austerity - 600 "Gordon", making for an interesting size comparison.
