The title says How to Thread Steel Pipe but this video also applies to galvanized and brass pipe as well. If you have the proper tools, the process is a fairly simple one but truth be told rather than invest in the tools required it would be wiser to rent them. If you only require one or two threads, it makes more sense to go to your local plumbing supply or home center and have them do it for you. How to Thread Steel Pipe is not difficult, I'll show you my methods, we'll thread some 1/2 " & 2" steel pipe and compare actual results with the National Pipe Thread Chart and see how close we come. CORRECTION NOTICE: Thanks to bobwas4066 for pointing out that I pointed out the wrong number of threads as stated in the "threads per inch column" of the PDF below. The correct column to look in for the approximate numbers of threads is "approximate number of threads to be cut" which brings the number of threads in the demo almost dead on.
