Massive Aircraft Formation 'The Balbo' - Duxford Flying Legends 2017

Here is a look at the traditional 'Balbo' massed formation flypast finale to the Duxford Flying Legends Airshow 2017. The 19 WW2 era aircraft here were filmed on the Sunday of the show and this film includes the Mk.1 Spitfire routine that was the second 'Joker' display during the 'Balbo'. The 'Joker' display is the traditional name for a solo aircraft that performs aerobatics for the spectators, while the massed formation assembles before flying past. Supermarine Spitfire LFVb EP120 G-LFVB The film includes the final landing approach of P-51D Mustang 'Miss Velma' immediately before it's unfortunate wheels up emergency forced landing, that was made by its pilot in a field adjacent to the airfield as a result of what is believed to have been an engine power failure resulting from either a mechanical or fuel issue.
