This video provides information about the Bendix® Fusion™ collision mitigation system alerts and interventions that may occur in different driving situations. It reviews Fusion with the Pedestrian Autonomous Emergency Braking (PAEB) feature on an International® MV™ Series medium-duty truck. Bendix Fusion uses information from the vehicle’s camera, radar, brake controller, and more, which means more potential opportunities for cross checking. Multiple information sources allow the Fusion system to assess the situation and possibly assist the driver to mitigate or lessen the severity of a potential forward collision while minimizing false alerts. The video reviews the latest enhancements to the powerful Fusion technology, in which the integration of radar, full stability, braking, and a new camera provide even more capabilities for increased performance. It shows how Fusion 3.1 differs from previous generations, including the new PAEB feature to potentially alert and brake on detected pedestrians at low vehicle speeds. Bendix safety technologies complement safe driving practices. No commercially available vehicle safety technology replaces a skilled, alert driver exercising safe driving techniques and proactive, comprehensive driver training. Never wait for the system to intervene. Responsibility for the safe operation of the vehicle remains with the driver at all times. All demonstrations portrayed in this video were performed under controlled circumstances and should not be considered a representation or a guarantee of product performance in real-world scenarios. Truck manufacturers may implement differing feature sets of the Bendix Fusion system over time. Check with your OE or dealer – and read the Operator’s Manual and the Challenging Scenarios Overview (BW8107) – to determine what features and performance capabilities, including system limitations, are applicable to your vehicle.
