I waited nearly 9 months for this moment! Literally smiled all the way through this edit. Still can't believe my parents came to stay with me all the way in Da Nang, Vietnam. I have lived in Vietnam since January this year but I left England last year at the end of November. So this is the longest I have gone without seeing my parents. This is going to be a whole series for a number of reasons! Firstly, my dad is an absolute character, there's going to be a lot of laughs and secondly, I believe we all have ADHD so this trip went from zero to 100 pretty quickly! On the day they arrived, getting their initial reaction to my new apartment in Da Nang was just priceless. Their reactions blew me away and made me feel so grateful for our home all over again. It's easy to stay and take it for granted so when a fresh pair of eyes comes along, your perspective changes. It happens every time we have guests and I absolutely love it. I'm so glad I rejected so many of the properties I viewed in Da Nang. It was worth the wait and worth the hassle of getting in touch with so many estate agents and landlords. Communication is always difficult in Vietnam but just persevere and it will all be worth it in the end. Over the course of the next few weeks we do a lot together. It wasn't just a medical check up for my Dad, what we intended this trip to be. It became so much more. So much adventure. So many twists and turns, the plot kept changing. As well as all the usual sights in Da Nang, we visited Bach Ma National park, Hoi An, the imperial city in Hue, I bought dad his first carbon bike, we cycled deep into main land Vietnam and so much more. Of course we did the main quest of getting my dad thoroughly checked up in the hospitals in Vietnam. He had several follow up appointments and whilst we were at it, we did my mum's health check up too. She even had dental work done which was spontaneous. Then we changed their flights in the end because in Da Nang, there is so much to do that you have to stay longer than 2 weeks. Finally, my parents fell in love with Vietnam and Da Nang so much that they have decided to stay here for 6 months to a year. Therefore, we ended their trip viewing a few apartments that they could potentially live in. They need to sort the cat out first and then they'll be back. I hope you enjoy a teaser of my fathers character, he's one you won't forget! #vietnam #danang #travel #apartments #indian
