This is a playthrough using Yoko Cindy Matsudaira in the PS1 game Kensei: Sacred Fist. Read on below for more information... Cindy is the sub-boss for Douglas, and she is an unlockable playable character. ===== HOW TO UNLOCK CINDY ===== Beat Normal Mode using Douglas. ===== ABOUT CINDY ===== Cindy is an assassin for the Tsubaki Corporation, and was Douglas' former lover. Her fighting style is Koppo, taught to her by her late-father. During a mission in Los Angeles, she met a local man named Douglas Anderson and that the two of them ended up falling in love and having an intimate relationship. Unfortunately their romance was short-lived when Douglas discovered that she was a hired assassin for The Tsubaki Corporation that he was currently investigating as a government agent. Upon realizing that Douglas now knew about her own devious profession, Cindy fought against him in combat but Douglas was able to escape from the imminent danger. Since then, Cindy has hated him with a passion. Cindy's current mission from her boss Kaiya is to enter The Sacred Fist Tournament to destroy whoever poses a threat to him, and to also eliminate Douglas. ===== GAMEPLAY & DESIGN ===== She kind of plays like Anna/Nina from Tekken, with some fast hard-hitting strikes and throw command chains. She also has a "seductive" personality and vibe just like Anna, shares the same fighting style... and is also an assassin. ===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ===== ---- She is voiced by Kimberly Forsythe. ---- Her related character, Douglas, is based on real-life actor and martial artist Steven Seagal. ---- The game is known as Bugi in Japan. ---- During gameplay against CPU opponents in Normal Mode, "FREE PLAY" blinks above the CPU character's lifebar. This is rather interesting because there isn't an Arcade version of the game. ===== ABOUT KENSEI SACRED FIST ===== This is a decent fighting game. There is a large repertoire of moves for each character, and the game depicts the various martial art styles very well. The game has a total roster of 23 characters, with 9 base characters being initially available when you begin the game, so there is a lot of unlocking to do. The unlockable characters share a moveset with one of the regular base characters, usually with some differences such as a few unique moves to themselves; some moves removed; slight changes to their strike ranges; and slight changes to their combo lengths. A cool feature of the gameplay is that Guarding consists of the characters avoiding/dodging the opponent strikes rather than blocking. The Japanese version of the game is called Bugi, where apart from the Japanese dialogue in the Command Lists and the Options screen, the game seems to be identical to it's Western counterpart. The game's graphics are good for the PS1's standards, and runs at a lovely 60fps.
