Route information: We start off in a siding below Low Rigg. Working our way along a short section of road we turn right on to the fell passing Tewet Tarn. Continuing up it is a relatively short and gentle ascent to the summit of Low Rigg. From this point we head down to St.John’s in the Vale and nearby Youth Centre. After visiting the church we work our way on to the track to begin our ascent to High Rigg. This is steep at first then shallows out. After summiting we loop back around and descend with views down to Bastenthwaite Lake and the Skiddaw range. Once near the church the track is followed to the farm and we head over the sheep fields which are packed with lambs at this time of year. We pass through more sheep fields before finally reaching the ancient Castlerigg Stone Circle. After admiring the ancient stones it is a short treck back to cross a field until we reach the start point once again. Route: https://explore.osmaps.com/route/2650...
