The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) hosted “STEM and the Trades,” a cost-free Zoom session for high school students on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 6:00-7:15 p.m. ET. Listen to the recording of this session of STEM Lyceums to hear from industry professionals. Learn how the Trades have affected their career pathways in the world of STEM. Distinguished speakers: Rosa Dunn is Connections Coordinator at Explore the Trades, a nonprofit bridging the technical talent gap in the service trades. Rosa has a deep passion for the trades and for helping students explore hands-on career paths that lead to meaningful, in-demand jobs. She previously served as the director of several CTE programs, where she collaborated with instructors, students, and industry partners to expand access to high-quality training and opportunities. She earned a BA in History/Teacher Education at Campbell University and an MA in Political Science and Government from American Public University. Cody Lunsford is a maintenance technician with 3 years of hands-on experience at Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia (Recent Advanced Manufacturing Graduate). He has a proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on complex manufacturing equipment. He excels at working in fast-paced environments while prioritizing safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. He studied at BridgeValley Community and Technical College and graduated from Nitro High School. This online seminar is offered through CEE’s STEM Lyceums, a virtual club for high school students to learn about STEM professions and career pathways. It is provided at no cost to schools, teachers, and students. Meetings foster critical thinking skills, encourage excitement for science, and prepare students to enter college and STEM careers. Companies, foundations, and individuals interested in sponsoring future STEM Lyceums are encouraged to contact CEE. For more information, visit https://www.cee.org/programs/stem-lyc...
