Time attack of Tropical Resort 2 in Sonic Generations 3DS, with Modern Sonic, in 1:21.54, ran on my new 3DS XL capture card. Very fun stage, but also difficult and wanted to move on from ILing this game, so I settled for this solid time. Lots of lasering and lots of boost pads to keep your speed going with. Decent run with consistent strats! 0:34 - I do an earlier laser here. Big Blue's run takes a route where they go lower, hit a boost pad, then laser a bit up which is a little faster, but I find this more reliable and also applicable to full game runs. 0:58 - There's a laser wall cycle where it turns on right around 57 in-game time seconds, so I want to ensure I make it before then. 1:07 - The main execution mistake, which was stomping slightly to the right of the spring, then not boosting the moment I landed to compensate. Ideally I stomp right on top of the spring so I move immediately. 1:18 - The entire meteor section is super sketchy. To keep all your laser speed, you have to constantly be swappig rails - that means getting bopped by a meteor is incredibly unreliable, as you can't wait on any rails to time swapping rails because I have to constantly be swapping.
