Overture Demo. The Imaginary Invalid ("Le malade imaginaire), a comic opera in 3 acts, is adapted almost faithfully to the play of the 18th century playwright, Moliere. Except that now we now find Argan, the imaginary invalid and a movie producer mogul, and his trusted secretary Rudina in the golden age of Hollywood in the 1930s. He wishes to marry his daughter, Angelique, off to the son (Thomas) to a celebrity quack (Dr. Purgeon) in hopes to receive free consultations. His second wife, the conniving hypocrite, Betty June, is no help and hopes to rid herself of Angelique and grab freely Argan's fortune. Only Rudina ("Rudy") can save the day by exposing Betty June and Dr. Purgeon and uniting Angelique with her true love, a young jazz musician (Clinton).
