Training Highlights | ABDK Faith Leaders Training on ECD & Positive Parenting (Tura) | MECDM | 2024

As part of Meghalaya’s Early Childhood Development (ECD) Mission, the State is partnering with faith leaders and community institutions to strengthen community awareness and action on early childhood development—bringing together faith and science to support children and families. In this video, we share highlights from a two-day training programme conducted with the A’chik Baptist Dalgipa Krima (ABDK) faith leaders at the Mission Compound in Tura, West Garo Hills, held on 12–13 March 2024. The training was attended by 47 faith leaders from 17 Krimas/associations affiliated with ABDK. The programme focused on: • Fundamentals of ECD and Nurturing Care • The importance of the early years and early investment from conception onwards • Positive parenting and building supportive home environments • Strengthening faith leaders as master trainers to share ECD messages through their platforms Following the training, participating faith leaders will disseminate key ECD concepts and parenting messages within their communities—supporting a stronger ecosystem for children’s development and adolescent well-being across the Garo Hills region. #MECDM #EarlyChildhoodDevelopment #Meghalaya #GaroHills #Tura #NurturingCare #PositiveParenting #CommunityMobilization #FaithLeaders
