Add 180 grams of milk. Add 3 to 8 drops of orange food coloring and mix until the color is fully combined and the sugar dissolves in the milk. Gradually add the Japanese rice flour and mix until you get a smooth, runny batter. Add the cornstarch and keep mixing. When all the dry ingredients are fully dissolved, add the vegetable oil and mix again until it blends into the batter. Pour the mochi mixture into a pan, turn the heat to low, and stir continuously until the milk evaporates and you get a soft, smooth, stretchy dough. Let the dough cool down after it’s ready, then place it inside a plastic bag so it doesn’t dry out. --- Ingredients for the orange cream: 4 egg 100 g sugar 3 oranges 20 g cornstarch 50 g butter --- Orange Cream Preparation: 1. Separate the egg yolks and whites. 2. Squeeze the juice of two oranges and strain it. 3. Zest one of the oranges using a grater or zester. 4. In a suitable bowl, place only the yolks and sprinkle sugar on top. Whisk until the sugar and yolks are combined. 5. Add the orange juice and whisk until the sugar dissolves. 6. Add the corn starch and stir until fully incorporated. 7. Add the orange zest to the mixture. 8. Place the bowl over low heat and stir constantly until a smooth, thick cream forms. 9. Strain the cream, and while it’s still hot, add 50 g butter, stirring until melted and combined. 10. Transfer the orange cream into a piping bag; it’s ready to use. --- Cream Cheese Frosting Ingredients : 200 g cream cheese 100 g cream 50 g powdered sugar --- Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe : 1. Place the cream cheese in a bowl and beat with an electric mixer for about 15 seconds until smooth. 2. Add the cream and beat for another 15 seconds until combined. 3. Add the powdered sugar and mix until you get a very smooth, thick, and delicious frosting. 4. Transfer the cream cheese frosting into a piping bag; it’s ready to use. --- Assembling Mochi: 1. Knead the mochi dough slightly and shape it into a log. 2. Lightly dust a surface with cornstarch and place the dough on it. 3. Divide the mochi dough into 6–8 portions. 4. Roll out each portion first by hand, then with a rolling pin. 5. Pipe the cream cheese frosting inside each piece of dough. 6. Fill the center of the frosting with the orange cream. Fold and seal the dough around the filling as shown in the video. 7. Place each mochi into a cupcake or pastry liner. 8. Repeat this process for all the dough portions. 9. The mochi is ready to serve. Enjoy! --- Important Tips: You can use 3 to 8 drops of food coloring. The more drops you add, the more vibrant your mochi dough will be. While cooking, do not mix the dough stuck to the sides of the pan with the main dough in the center, as it is very dry and will ruin the texture if combined. When grating an orange, only grate the orange part of the peel. For this dessert, it’s not necessary for the milk, eggs, or butter to be at room temperature; you can use them cold. Store the egg whites in a sealed container, as I will show you how to make a very delicious dry sweet using them. Try to use a non-stick pan when cooking the mochi dough. --- Orange Mochi Easy Mochi Recipe Homemade Mochi Dessert Soft and Chewy Mochi Orange Cream Filling Mochi for Beginners Japanese Dessert at Home Fruit-filled Mochi --- #cake #recipe #dessert #baking #homemadedessert
