Greek starters you can make at home - Maro's Mizithropitakia

One of the most traditional meze you will find in the island of Crete is Mizithropitakia (little Mizithra cheese pastries). If you can find sour or semi-sour Mizithra cheese, this is one of the easiest and tastiest Greek starters you can make at home. Mizithra cheese is a whey cheese, or mixed milk & whey cheese, made from sheep or goat's milk (sometimes using both). It is primarily produced in the island of Crete but is widespread throughout Greece.
