Norfolk & Western 4-8-4 “J Class” #611 pulled her last excursions on the Strasburg Railroad in May of 2023. With two weekends of excursions before the move south, 611 ran 45 minute trips on the classic Strasburg half-hourly schedule, which had been absent in recent years due to Covid-19 and other difficulties. Joining her on her last excursions was Strasburg Railroad’s own Norfolk & Western 4-8-0 “M Class” #475, built in 1906 and preceding the 611 by almost 44 years, long before the J Class as a whole was even remotely a thought. This video showcases various scenes of both the 611 and 475 from the final weekends of excursions on the Road to Paradise. Will the two engines meet again in the future?
