Kayaking "Scotland's Roof" The 8 Day Expedition Continues ... Episode 7: Day 7: Port Odhar to Sheigra via the mighty Cape Wrath !! A fairly early start today, as we had over 20 miles of advanced sea conditions to cover, before reaching our intended camp spot at Sheigra bay. Our route would take us Westward along the the remainder of Scotlands North Coast, to the magnificent and mighty Cape Wrath, Scotland's most remote and NorthWesterly headland. A position where a mixing of tides and the full might of the Atlantic Ocean collide, dramatically worsening any sea conditions! Our strong, very experienced and capable group handled the active sea conditions and tidal flows we encountered with ease, despite paddling fully laiden kayaks. We paddled past incredible coastal features along the route, immense cliffs and sea stacks, beautiful caves, incredible rock formations, fabulous reef systems, which increased the sea state allowing for more challenging conditions to enjoy. This was another special day, and the penultimate in our incredible eight day kayaking expedition. To be continued ... tomorrow, day 8, our final day of this incredible journey.
