"Psychology and technology in mathematics education". March 18–21, 2019, Moscow, Russia. https://education.yandex.ru/pme/ Scientific research in education as a factor of digital economy and knowledge economy growth. Panel discussion. How can education change in the twenty-first century and how can research give us an opportunity to make this change efficient? Mathematics is universal, taught in nearly the same way across the world, and technologies that can be used in teaching are also universal. But education is embedded in the local tradition and cultural background. Educational research is a relatively new field, less than a hundred years old, but there is reason to believe that research results will indeed help to build educational trajectories more effectively. The experts talked about how to measure the quality of education and which instruments can be helpful in this context, what are the criteria and how to outline methodology, and whether it is possible to formalize the quality of the object in such studies. If we change the curriculum now, when will these changes become noticeable, how will they affect the long-term result? Could it be that after 30 years we will regret having removed something we teach today? How can you reduce the workload for children, and facilitate individual work with children for teachers in public schools? How to understand whether a child makes a mistake because he cannot grasp the meaning of a long sentence the task, or because he still confuses right and left? 3:25 Igor Remorenko, Rector of the Moscow State Pedagogical University, 8:10 Isak Frumin, Scientific Director of the Institute of Education, HSE, 13:50 Markku Hannula, Professor, University of Helsinki, 17:02 Ivan Yashchenko, Director of the Center for Educational Excellence in Moscow, 25:39 Natalia Chebotar, director of strategy, Yandex.Uchebnik, 29:55 Yuri Zinchenko, President of the Russian Academy of Education.
