How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Westin Truck Bed Mat in black rubber. Today, we're just gonna get an idea as far as what that does for our bed and how it can help you. So, adding a bed mat to the back of your pickup is gonna help protect your paint as well as the durability of your bed just from the use of being treated like a truck. It helps keep that dirt and debris and scratches down to help you get a longer life out of the finish. Another great pro for having a bed mat, especially a rubber one, is that it's gonna allow you to have better traction and keep things from sliding when you're going down the road. So, I use these tire chains here as an example. You can see with that finish, it slides really easily, there isn't any resistance. But with a mat, as you can see, that's gonna help keep everything stationary. So if you combine that with some restraint devices like ratchet straps, that's gonna give you an even better measure as far as how well things will stay put when you're going down the road. As far as the dimensions on our mat, it is custom measured to fit the Colorado exactly, at 72 long, 53 wide, and it's 5/16" thick. On the underside, you actually have these ridges in sections of three, where these bumps here are gonna allow you to get a good grip, and you're gonna have a decent amount of elevation over the bed itself to allow you to have air flow and drainage for all that water that you may encounter out in the world. Overall, this is a great van mat. The thickness of it is great, and the fact that it's so sturdy and feels really rugged, that's also all pros. Alternatively, there are other mats available. For example, WeatherTech has one, their Impact Liner. It's very thick like this, but it gives you a little bit more raised edge on it versus just, kind of, stopping at the floor.
