👁️ Anatomy of the Eye | Simple Explanation for Beginners The human eye is a complex yet fascinating organ that allows us to see the world around us. It works much like a camera—light enters the eye, gets focused, and an image is formed on the retina, which is then sent to the brain for interpretation. 🔹 External Parts of the Eye The outer parts protect the eye and help maintain vision. Eyelids protect the eye and spread tears during blinking. Conjunctiva is a thin transparent layer that keeps the eye moist. Sclera is the white part of the eye that provides strength and shape. Cornea is the clear front surface that bends incoming light. 🔹 Middle Parts of the Eye These parts control light entry and focusing. Iris is the colored part of the eye. Pupil is the central opening that controls how much light enters. Lens focuses light on the retina for clear vision. Ciliary muscles help the lens change shape for near and distant vision. 🔹 Chambers of the Eye Anterior chamber contains aqueous humor and nourishes the cornea. Posterior chamber lies behind the iris. Vitreous chamber is filled with vitreous gel and maintains eye shape. 🔹 Retina – The Vision Layer Retina is the light-sensitive layer of the eye. Rods help in night and peripheral vision. Cones help in color and detailed vision. Macula provides sharp central vision. Fovea gives maximum visual clarity. 🔹 Optic Nerve The optic nerve carries visual information from the retina to the brain, where images are formed and understood. ✅ In Short Light → Cornea → Lens → Retina → Optic Nerve → Brain = Vision This video is useful for MBBS, optometry, and nursing students, as well as anyone interested in eye anatomy. #AnatomyOfEye #EyeAnatomy #HumanEye #Ophthalmology #Optometry #MedicalEducation #MBBS #EyeCare #VisionScience #Biology #NEET #MedicalStudents #Healthcare #LearnAnatomy #YouTubeEducation
