New Model Army 'No Rest' Bass cover. New Model Army's first two albums featured the excellent Stuart Morrow on bass, easily one of rock's finest bass pick players, yet vastly underrated or perhaps simply overlooked. Stuart's lines are aggressive, punchy, crammed full of interesting ideas and just great fun to play, yet you will not find accurate tabs/transcriptions of his work anywhere and there is precious little archive footage available of him playing live. As New Model Army celebrate their 40th birthday I wanted to explore and showcase Stuart's work by providing accurate (hopefully!), close-up demos of his best work. No Rest was the anthemic title track for their second album and as usual featured great bass lines with some nimble scale runs, arpeggios at the top end of the neck and a few epic volume swells. A delay is used for certain sections.
