Hexatrekkers on the Tour Du Mont Blanc - HEXATREK - DAY 11 After a short night beneath the stars, I wake to find everyone already packed and gone. I take my time — slow breakfast, slow breaths — and begin the day’s climb toward the Col de Tricot, which rises just above our bivouac. The ascent is gentle, the morning quiet. The descent, however, is steep and rugged… but at the bottom, there is coffee. And there, once again, is Robin. We hope to meet later at Refuge de la Croix du Bonhomme, our destinations loosely aligned. Further down the trail, at the next hut, I run into Louise again. The HexaTrek has a rhythm of its own — people appear, disappear, and somehow find their way back into your day. I linger at a nearby campsite, considering staying, but it’s crowded and overly polished… and this wild wanderer doesn’t quite fit among the neat rows and holiday families. So I push on for another hour toward the next bivouac. There, to my surprise, I reunite with Julien, the walking YouTuber I first met at Camping Le Pelly. We talk about life, long trails, and creativity — and I interview him on camera, good material for my own channel. The bivouac spot feels like a festival campground once again: tents packed together, hikers from the Tour du Mont Blanc sharing food, stories, and weary smiles. Another night, another unexpected community in the mountains. ⛰️ Come follow the journey — across cols, into friendships, and through the wandering heartbeat of the HexaTrek.
