A look beyond instinct towards a closer perception of animals reveals an emotional depth that mirrors human experience. Looking beyond this connection shifts how shelters are viewed, not as a last resort but as where meaningful bonds begin. Elena’s journey began in medicine, but her true calling emerged in the faces of animals in need. Today, she stands at the forefront of animal welfare advocacy in the Philippines as the head of Pawssion Project’s Shelter Management Committee. Her work spans rescue operations, rehabilitation, and adoption for over 400 animals, as well as the leadership of life-changing and spay-neuter campaigns. Beyond the shelters, Elena lends her voice to shaping policies and legislation that aim to create a more compassionate future for animals nationwide.
