Fishing for GIANT Cubera & Mutton Snapper.. A Day We’ll Never Forget

If you love fishing for big Snapper, this is a video you won’t wanna miss! We set out for an afternoon of Snapper fishing in Key West, Florida, and ended up landing one of the biggest Cubera Snapper we’ve ever caught—well over 60 pounds. We were also lucky enough to get on a solid Mutton Snapper bite and even managed to hook a couple Tuna before the day ended. We left the dock around 2 PM for a spontaneous trip after a rainy morning. Nicole had her sights set on targeting Mutton Snapper and Blackfin Tuna, so we set out to find some bait which is never an easy task. After bouncing from spot to spot, we finally secured enough live bait to make the run offshore. Our first drop was around 3:00 PM, and within minutes we were hooked up on a nice sized Black Grouper. That kicked off an absolutely insane afternoon of fishing. After landing this fish we ended up fishing for Mutton Snapper for the next hour and a half. The bite did not stop. In just under two hours, we landed 11 nice sized Mutton Snapper, each one seemingly bigger than the last. The Snapper fishing in Florida doesn’t always look like this.. but when it’s on, it’s on. Once the Mutton bite slowed, we ran further out to fish for Cubera Snapper. With the sun beginning to dip, we knew we had a small window to try for a big one. Our patience paid off. We hooked into two massive Cubera Snapper, landing one that was easily over 60 lbs, an absolute Florida trophy. As the day turned to dusk, we made one final push for Tuna and got lucky on the ride home.
