"Years of Innocence" Song #32 (1985) Undiscovered: my songwriting journey

This video tells the story behind a song I wrote back in the summer of 1985. Skip to 2:15, if you just want to hear the song. This is one that I never presented to the band, but I can't remember exactly why. I think we were working in a new keyboard player at the time, and were focused on teaching him the songs already on our set list. In this video, I'm playing my PRS Custom 24 and have produced the song as the kick ass rocker I imagined it would have been if we worked it into the Reckless Abandon set list. I doubled the rhythm guitar tracks, added a big guitar solo, bass part, and lots of vocal harmony in the chorus. The lyrics of the song are a reaction to some of the things I saw around me where I felt like people were trying to grow up too fast. Years of Innocence © 1985 R. Andrew Hunt What’s your hurry girl?
