Body Cam Video Showing Old Man Arrested For Stalking Joggers - On April 23rd, 2024, at approximately 1545 hours, an officer responded to 160 9th Street SE, Vero Beach, FL, in reference to an indecent act. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the complainant, who reported that while heading toward the walk trail, an individual and another unidentified man were staring at him. He stated that while on the walk trail, the individual engaged him in a brief conversation, stating, "It’s a beautiful day to be unclothed, isn’t it." After walking away in fear, the complainant turned around and observed the individual with his pants not on his body, exposing his ********* and ****** while looking directly at him. The complainant advised that he walked toward the observation deck to get out of sight. He stated that the individual followed him to the observation deck, prompting him to run back to his vehicle when he had the chance. Before speaking with the suspect, the officer read Miranda Rights, which the suspect acknowledged understanding. The suspect admitted to walking the trail and having a brief conversation with the complainant, saying, "It’s a beautiful day, isn’t it." The suspect consented to a search of his phone to ensure no photos of the complainant were taken; no photos were found. Public Safety dispatch advised that the suspect had been arrested previously for a similar act. Based on the information, the suspect was placed in custody and transported to the Indian River County jail for booking.
