In this chapter, Greg Doney explores how nutrition directly influences trauma recovery by supporting or prolonging the Cell Danger Response (CDR). Trauma places heavy demands on mitochondria, immune function, and inflammation pathways, all of which are strongly affected by nutritional status. When the body lacks the nutrients required for cellular repair, the CDR can remain active, leading to fatigue, brain fog, inflammation, mood instability, and poor stress tolerance. This helps explain why trauma recovery often stalls when nutrition is overlooked. This chapter introduces nutrition as a biological support for nervous system regulation and cellular repair, showing how targeted dietary strategies can help the body move out of defence mode and into healing. ▶ Watch the full Healing Trauma at the Cellular Level series: • Healing Trauma At The Cellular Level ▶ Learn more about trauma recovery at Goodsky: https://goodsky.com.au About the Author: Greg Doney is a trauma recovery specialist and the founder of Goodsky Mental Health Retreat.
