Initially, we had Sikkim in mind, but with the mandatory 2-night stay rule at Lachen–Lachung, we changed plans on the go and pointed our wheels toward the enchanting Dooars. And the Dooars didn’t disappoint — lush tea gardens, serene forest stretches, multiple river streams, and the quiet charm of the Bhutan border running alongside us. It felt like driving through a nature documentary. As the day unfolded, the landscape kept shifting, and by evening we were cruising through the wide roads of Assam, eventually rolling into Guwahati by 9 PM.
