M15 Dad Of The Year! Brings Fish For Dinner & Waits Till E22 Eats It! Both Fly Off Together 5.22.23

M15 flies in to the nest with a partial armored catfish and E22 is following right behind him & claims the fish! M15 will head down to the pond and stays there for a long time while E22 eats its dinner. The mockingbird swooped down continually on E22 - it took almost an hour to finish eating the ACF with that tough skin. In the meantime, M15 will go over to the office oak and then return to the outer attic branch & deflect the mockingbird from E22 so E22 can eat in peace. Notice that M15 has a full crop - he must have eaten a portion of the armored catfish and brought the rest back for E22! Dad of the Year!!! M15 then flies off the outer branch heading east and E22 follows Dad and they fly off together ♥ This is part of the teaching that M15 is continually doing for E22 to encourage E22 to gain all the necessary life survival skills possible before leaving. It is good for E22 to stay close to Dad & hopefully is watching M15 hunting and fishing as well which is important as young eagles learn how to hunt & fish through observation and through trial and error.
