በዚህ ሳምንት፣ ረቂቅ በሆነው የአጨዋወት ስልታቸውና የአድማጮችን ልብ በጥልቀት በሚነኩ የሙዚቃ ሥራዎቻቸው የኢትዮጵያ ክላሲካል ሙዚቃን ለአለም አቀፍ መድረኮች ካስተዋወቁ ፣ ከታዋቂው ፒያኒስት፣ አቀናባሪ እና የሙዚቃ አስተማሪ ግርማ ይፍራሸዋ ጋር ያደረግነዉ ቆይታ እነሆ። በለጋ እድሜ ክራር በመጫወት ከሙዚቃ ጋር የተሳሰሩት አርቲስት ግርማ ፣ በቡልጋሪያ በሶፊያ ግዛት ኮንሰርቫቶሪ በክላሲካል ሙዚቃ ሰልጥነዋል። በስራዎቻቸዉ አህጉራትን እና ባህሎችን አቋርጦ በማለፍ የምዕራባውያን ክላሲካል ቴክኒኮችን ከኢትዮጵያ የሙዚቃ ትውፊቶች መንፈሳዊ ሀብት ጋር በማዋሀድ ልዩ፣ ስሜታዊ እና ጥልቅ ሰብዓዊነት ያላቸዉ ስራዎችን አበርክተዋል። ከአዲስ አበባ እስከ ለንደንና ኒውዮርክ ባሉ የዓለም ከተሞች አድማጮችን በማፍራት ፤ የሙዚቃ ድርሰቶቻቸው፣ በንግግሮቻቸው እና በዓለም አቀፍ ትብብሮቻቸው የኢትዮጵያን ክላሲካል ሙዚቃ አስጠርተዋል። በአሁኑ ወቅት ፒያኒስት ግርማ ፣ በአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የአሸናፊ ከበደ የኪነ-ጥበብ ማዕከል የሙዚቃ ዳይሬክተር በመሆን በማገልገል ላይ ይገኛሉ። በዚህ ክፍል ስለ ፒያኒስት ግርማ ልጅነት እና አስተዳደጋቸዉ ፣ ከኢትዮጵያ ወደ ቡልጋሪያ ለሙዚቃ ትምህርት ከመሄድ እስከ ታላላቅ መድረኮች የተጉዋዙትን ጉዞ ፣ እንዲሁም ስለ ክላሲካል ሙዚቃ እና ባህላዊ ቅኝቶችን እንቃኛለን። As our season opener, we are honored to feature the famous pianist and composer Girma Yifrashewa — known for his delicate touch and powerful compositions that stir the soul. As a pioneering classical pianist and composer, he is redefining what Ethiopian Classical music can sound like on the global stage. With a love that started at a young age from playing the kirar to being trained at the Sofia State Conservatory in Bulgaria, Girma’s journey has spanned continents and cultures, blending Western classical technique with the spiritual depth of Ethiopian musical tradition. His unique sound — often described as meditative, emotional, and deeply human — has captivated audiences from Addis Ababa to London to New York. While firmly rooted in classical piano, Girma’s work reaches beyond performance. Through his compositions, lectures, and collaborations, he’s helped elevate Ethiopian classical music to new heights, inspiring a new generation of artists to embrace both heritage and innovation.
