Discover METER sensors: https://www.metergroup.com/en/meter-e... How are your land management decisions changing your soil properties? How do you know whether those changes had a positive impact on your soil? How much did the soil properties in question change? Wetting schedules, soil additives, pest management, tilling practices, and other land management decisions influence dynamic soil properties (DSPs). These properties include soil organic matter, water infiltration rates, hydraulic conductivity, bulk density, water holding capacity, and more can be altered by the choices you make. Join Leo Rivera as he discusses: Dynamic vs static soil properties Why it is important to measure DSPs How DSPs are measured in the field and lab How DSPs measurement is used in real-world applications And more Presenter: Leo Rivera is research scientist and Director of Scientific Outreach at METER Group. He earned his undergraduate degree in Agriculture Systems Management at Texas A&M University where he also got his Master’s degree in Soil Science. There, he helped develop an infiltration system for measuring hydraulic conductivity used by the NRCS in Texas. Currently, Leo is the force behind application development in METER’s hydrology instrumentation including HYPROP and WP4C.
