Here’s a flavorful, homestyle Chicken Aloo (Chicken & Potato Curry) recipe that’s comforting and easy to make. 🍗 Chicken Aloo (Chicken & Potato Curry) 🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4) 500 g chicken (bone-in or boneless, medium pieces) 2 medium potatoes (peeled & cubed) 1 large onion (finely sliced) 2 tomatoes (chopped) 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste 2–3 tbsp oil 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp turmeric powder 1–1½ tsp red chili powder 1 tsp coriander powder ½ tsp garam masala Salt to taste 1–2 green chilies (optional) Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish) 1–1½ cups water 👩🍳 Instructions 1️⃣ Sauté the base Heat oil in a pan or pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown. 2️⃣ Add aromatics Stir in ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant. 3️⃣ Cook tomatoes & spices Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes soften and oil begins to separate. 4️⃣ Add chicken Add chicken pieces and cook on medium heat for 5–7 minutes until lightly browned and coated with masala. 5️⃣ Add potatoes Mix in cubed potatoes. Stir well. 6️⃣ Simmer Add water, cover, and cook: Pressure cooker: 2–3 whistles Pot: 25–30 minutes on low heat Cook until chicken is tender and potatoes are soft. 7️⃣ Finish Sprinkle garam masala and simmer for 2 more minutes.
