Ari Rachmat is a student at Jakarta Intercultural School in Indonesia. He serves as a Student Ambassador and Team Leader, supporting school events such as campus tours for prospective families and assisting during IASAS competitions, while also coordinating and managing the ambassador team. He has participated in community outreach with the Thousand Days Fund, travelling across islands in East Nusa Tenggara to raise awareness of childhood stunting. Ari has also taken part in a business and entrepreneurship programme, where he developed a venture capital pitch focused on mental health in Indonesia. At the CCIR Academy, Ari’s research paper, The Complicated Influences on Breastfeeding Decisions in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, examines the social, cultural, economic, and environmental factors shaping mothers’ breastfeeding decisions in the region. The study explores how these influences affect infant feeding practices and maternal health choices, offering insight into the complexities surrounding breastfeeding in local communities. He also shared his reflections on the project in a CCIR Academy Student Spotlight episode, discussing the guidance he received from his mentor and the lessons gained through the research process.
