Chimmuanya Pearl was not born blind, so becoming visually impaired much later in life was such a daunting challenge. Sharing from her personal experiences, she talked about the principles and the mentality she engaged to surmount this mammoth challenge and become one of the youngest professors in The University of Nigeria Nsukka Dr. Pearl is an Associate Professor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka despite being physically challenged(blind). She emerged as the best graduating student in her class in 2005 and has since risen to become one of the youngest professors in the University. She devotes her time to counselling persons with disability and people who care for them, having lived with visual impairment for over 20 years. Chimmuanya loves to share her story to stir up tenacity and stoicism in young people especially women This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
