This video is not about hating on parents. And it’s not about blame. 💛 But if you feel resentment—now what?🌱 This time of year, many of us naturally become more reflective. We look at what’s working in our lives… and what isn’t. And for many people, that reflection brings up a quiet realization — sometimes for the first time, sometimes for the hundredth time — that a parent, or both parents, failed them in some way along the journey. That can be a heavy truth to see. 🫶 So in this video, we meet it gently—with choice. We don’t analyze why our parents showed up the way they did. We don’t rush forgiveness. And we don’t stay stuck in resentment. Instead, we ask a different question: What would I have loved in a parent as a child? What would have made me feel safe, seen, protected, and loved unconditionally? ❤️ From there, we begin the work we can control, learning how to love ourselves in the ways they couldn’t show up for us. This is part of my 365-Day Self-Trust Salve, a daily practice of reconnecting with our True North 🧭 and building self-trust 1% at a time. Three simple ways to love yourself more today: 🌱❤️ 1. Speak to yourself kindly. Look in the mirror, smile gently, and say something loving and reassuring--the way a safe parent would. (Or would be capable of doing if they knew how important is was.) 2. Take yourself outside. Even a short walk helps your nervous system settle and reminds your body it’s safe to move, breathe, and be present. 3. Nourish yourself intentionally. Choose or prepare one meal with care — something that grounds you and says, “I matter.” In a future video, I’ll talk about how to begin releasing resentment — gently, incrementally, and without pressure — if and when you feel the nudge that it’s time. For now, this is simply an invitation. One honest choice. One small act of self-love. One percent more than yesterday. 💜 🧭 If you’d like gentle but structured support learning to trust yourself again and care for your nervous system, you can explore 1:1 coaching with me at the link below. https://theleap.co/@8and88_Coaching/c...
