|Surti Dana Muthiya Nu Shaak|Winter Special Recipe|सुरती दाना मुठिया नू शाक|Dilse Foodie Re| #surtidanamuthiyanushaak#winterspecialrecipe#dilsefoodiere Dana Muthiya Nu Shaak is a very famous and traditional Gujrati vegetarian recipe, mostly prepared in winter season when fresh Surti Paapdi and Green Tuvar is available in plenty.This delicious recipe is very famous in Surat, Gujarat.A spicy,tangy gravy is prepared using Surti paapdi seeds and fresh tuvar seeds in which fried or steamed muthiyas (dumplings made with besan and methi leaves)are added.You can enjoy this healthy,tasty dish with chapati,paratha or poori. This winter,do try making this traditional, healthy and delicious Surti Dana Muthiya Nu Shaak and enjoy! Ingredients For boiling Dana: Surti paapdi seeds-1/2 cup Fresh tuvar seeds-1/2 cup Groundnut oil-1 tbsp Ajwain-1 tsp Dry red chillies-2 Hing powder-1/2 tsp Haldi powder-1/4 tsp Salt to taste Baking soda-a pinch Water-2 cups Ginger-Green Chilli Paste Ginger-1 inch Green chillies-8 For muthiyas Besan-1/2 cup Wheat flour-1/2 cup Chopped methi leaves-1 cup Chopped dhaniya leaves -a handful Fresh garlic greens-a handful Ginger-green chilli paste-1 tbsp Hing powder-1/4 tsp Salt to taste Haldi powder-1/4 tsp Baking soda-a pinch Sugar-1 tsp Ajwain(crushed)-1 tsp Lemon juice-1 tbsp Groundnut oil-1 tbsp Water as required Gravy Groundnut oil -1 tbsp White til seeds-1 tsp Hing powder-1/4 tsp Ginger-green chilli paste-1 tbsp Dhaniya powder-1 tbsp Sugar -1 tsp Paalak puree-1/2 cup Dhaniya leaves-a handful Fresh garlic greens-a handful Lemon juice-1 tbsp For garnishing Dhaniya leaves Fresh garlic greens Method Heat a pressure cooker,add groundnut oil,ajwain,dry red chillies,hing and saute for few seconds.Add washed Surti Paapdi seeds and fresh tuvar seeds.Add haldi powder,salt,baking soda and saute for 2-3 min.Add water and pressure cook for 2 whistles. Grind ginger and green chillies into a coarse paste and keep ready. For making muthiyas,in a bowl,add besan,wheat flour, chopped methi leaves, dhaniya leaves,fresh garlic greens,ginger-green chilli paste,hing,salt,haldi powder,baking soda, sugar,crushed ajwain,lemon juice and water as required.Make a semi soft dough. Roll out small balls of the dough.Steam the dough balls in a steamer for 10-12 min. For making gravy,heat a pan,add groundnut oil,white til seeds hing,ginger green chilli paste and saute.Add boiled dana, dhaniya powder,sugar,paalak puree and mix.Add steamed muthiya balls and mix.Cover and cook for 5 min on low flame.Add dhaniya leaves,fresh garlic greens and mix.Put off the flame and add lemon juice.Mix . Tasty, healthy and delicious Winter Special Surti Dana Muthiya Nu Shaak is ready to be enjoyed with hot chapati,roti,paratha or puri.
