So a few days ago I cooked some lamb breasts. Lamb breast is cheap, but cooked properly is a delicious cut of meat. I used Simon Hopkinson's recipe which slow braises the lamb breast in onions. It's so easy, and if you want to try the recipe for yourself, here's the link https://www.bbc.com/food/recipes/brea... Now what do you do if you have a bunch of leftover lamb? Well there's numerous ways in which you can turn leftover lamb into something new, but in these cold days I wanted something warming, soothing and just 'right'. So I made this simple but flavour packed lamb stew, that is topped with rosemary dumplings. Now you don;t have to use lamb breast for my lamb stew, you can use any leftover lamb you might have. Roast shoulder would work very well with this. The beauty as well with this lamb stew is it takes half the time to cook than a traditional stew, as the work is all done for you in regards to braising. The meat is already tender, and so all you really need to do is cook everything together enough so the veg is tender, and the flavours marry together. You can of course switch out the rosemary for any other herb in the dumplings. Thyme, parsley, chive and even tarragon work really well in dumplings. Or you can leave the herbs out entirely. #lambrecipes #lambstew #leftovers To make my lamb stew with rosemary dumplings you will need: ►About 300g of leftover lamb ►2 medium carrots ►2 small onions ►2 small or 1 medium sized turnip ►1 stick of celery ►150g of diced smoked bacon ►1 sprig of rosemary ►2 bay leaves ►About 1 litre of good lamb stock ►2 heaped tbsp of plain flour ►1-2 tsp of cranberry sauce ►Salt & pepper/oil for cooking For the dumplings: ►150g of self raising flour ►80g of beef or vegetable suet ►About 100ml of cold water ►Salt & pepper ►1 heaped tsp of chopped rosemary (optional) 𝑭𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒔 ★ Facebook - adamseatschannel ★ Twitter - @adamseats ★ Instagram - adamseats ★ Pinterest - adamseatsyt
