#tagalog #filipino #philippines This is PART 3 of our review of the Tagalog CASE MARKERS. Tagalog case markers are articles that are attached to nouns to make the noun stand and signal what the noun is all about. There are three main types of Tagalog case markers: • Direct markers • Indirect markers • Oblique markers In the last two videos, we reviewed the Direct Marker ANG and its plural form, ANG MGA, which are used with COMMON NOUNS, or names of people, animals, ideas, or inanimate objects. In this video, we discuss the Indirect Marker NG and its plural counterpart NG MGA. INDIRECT MARKERS are called INDIRECT because they are not the focus of a sentence. NG is points to the OBJECT of the sentence and is generally used with ACTOR FOCUSED verbs, where the focus is on the actor or the doer of the action and where object is paired with the marker NG. The easiest way to understand what NG does is to think that it does exactly what the indefinite article A and AN in English. Some sample sentences in this video include: • Nagmamaneho ako NG kotse • I am driving A car • I drive A car • Naglalarô ka NG bola • You are plaing A ball • You play with A ball • Nagsusulat sia NG artikulo • He/She is writing AN article • He/She writes An article • Kumakain kami NG durian • We are eating (A) durian • We eat (A) durian MORE sample sentences are in the video. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TIME STAMPS 00:00 Tagalog Case Markers 02:02 Indirect Markers 02:48 The Many Personalities of NG 04:10 NG with Actor Focused Verbs 05:55 ANG with Object Focused Verbs 08:06 NG and ANG with Adjectives that Express Feelings 09:34 NG MGA for Plural Objects 10:32 NUNG and NUNG MGA 14:08 Outro ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PREVIOUS VIDEOS Mastering Tagalog Case Markers | ANG and ANG MGA Part 1 (E110) • Mastering Tagalog Case Markers | ANG and A...
