Baygund, a village in Tral tehsil of Pulwama district, is home to a minority Sikh community of approximately 600 people. The residents face numerous challenges due to a lack of basic amenities. Shambles roads and an inadequate electricity infrastructure force them to voice their concerns against prolonged neglect and injustice. The village lacks proper communication facilities and does not have a school for children to receive an education. Another pressing issue is the absence of a boundary wall for a nallah passing through the area, posing safety and environmental risks. Despite multiple appeals and repeated visits to authorities, the villagers’ pleas for improvement remain unheard, leaving the community in a state of persistent struggle.
