Why do women make such great real estate agents, and why is the world of real estate still run like a man's world? Let's talk about the "Emotional Hot-Headed Diva" These "bad" and "negative" attributes are what make her so good at her job. Sometimes those emotions are exactly what made her work harder for her client. Why? Because she cared so much for them. Her hot-headed bulldog nature was perfect for negotiations because she didn’t take BS and she got things done. And the woman part? That’s the best part. That natural maternal instinct is what makes her an amazing agent: the time she took to educate her clients to make sure they weren’t making rash decisions that could affect their future; the care she took combing through a home for issues before putting in an offer to make sure her clients were getting what they deserved and not just lipstick on a pig; the attention she poured into every document during negotiations so that everything was perfect for her clients. Being a woman made her the perfect agent. However, these same amazing attributes are constantly turned on women in real estate, and let's be honest, the entire business world on a daily basis. A woman cares too much about a client or "doing the right thing" and they are portrayed as overly emotional or hormonal. Not taking BS can come off as being a shrew...the kinder way of saying the word that starts with B and makes me itch... In the world of real estate, women are constantly talked down to by men with half the experience and twice the ego. So, how do we combat this while keeping true to our nature as strong powerful women? It is as simple as using your breath for power and using your silence as strength. The easiest way to fluster a man? By not letting yourself get flustered! Let's explore together how to rule the world of real estate by demanding respect, working hard, and keeping a heart of gratitude! Stephanie Jones is a seasoned real estate agent, marketing expert, and firm believer in women’s empowerment, but you may also know her as an HGTV House Hunters Realtor. Her Book, Boss Lady Real Estate Agent: Show Up, Stand Out, and Rule the Market (Like a Girl) is a best seller in multiple categories on Amazon. Stephanie started out in the world of entertainment, and she often credits her superior marketing skills to the time that she spent auditioning and traveling the world as a performer on luxury cruise lines. Upon returning from one such cruise, a New Jersey-based realtor offered her a job, and just like that, she was swept up into the world of real estate. After taking a few years to learn the ropes in both residential and commercial sales, she traded in her part-time entertainment jobs for a full dive into being a Boss Lady real estate agent. She wanted more and decided it was time to share her knowledge with other women who wanted to continue to grow their business against the odds. Stephanie now specializes in helping her fellow female counterparts excel in the world of real estate, by teaching them her unconventional approach to finding clients and closing sales. She believes women deserve to be treated as equals in the male-driven world of real estate.
