We are so back. I decided to run this week's Elite Deep Dive; it's been about 5.5 months since I last did a solo deep dive speedrun. So why run the EDD this week? Mostly because the normal DD sucked (Hollow Bough). The pumpkins probably and simultaneously made this run better and worse. When broken they'll spawn swarmers at a high chance. But as you'll see in stage 1 they help get one of the pipes to a well. Build / Loadout Primary: M1000 Classic, 2 3 2 1 1, Electrocuting Focus Shots Secondary: Jury-Rigged Boomstick, 1 2 3 1 3, Special Powder Perks: Deep Pockets, Born Ready, Veteran Depositor, Iron Will, Beastmaster Grenade Choice: Pheromone Canister Beer Choice: Dark Morkite I use only one Approved Mod in these runs, and that's Aichi's Beer Selector. It skips all the "Disband Team" button presses it takes for the desired daily beer to finally show up. It is a time saver outside of the run. Notes about this run... Stage 1: There is barely any downtime in this stage. A lot of it is stabilizing, setting up pipes, and mining morkite and nitra. That's about it for this stage. Stage 2: Dark Morkite allows me to finish all the morkite in the third cave, which is also where I intend to finish the Hiveguard fight. The strategy for this stage is to use the Hiveguard to make shortcuts back to the drop pod for me. These shortcuts aren't pretty though mostly because of how vertical the 2nd cave is. Stage 3: Very simple point extraction layout. All but one aquarq are fairly close to the minehead and morkite well. The greatest influence on how long this stage can take is most likely from where the mini refinery drops since it doesn't drop in the same place every time.
