This video documents my Houston Marathon from the inside. The calm before the start, the confidence early, and the moment everything unraveled late. No race-day hype, no motivational speech, no polished recap. Just the real experience of chasing a sub-3 marathon and learning exactly how unforgiving the last miles can be. This was my first marathon outside of Austin and my first build where everything was done with intention. Structured training, real pacing, real fueling, real expectations. Early miles felt locked in. By mile 16, things were clicking. By mile 20, my body had other plans. This isn’t about the finish time. It’s about the decisions made when things start to fall apart. The mental math. The recalibration. The choice to keep moving forward when quitting would have been easier. If you’ve ever trained for a marathon, pushed a goal that scared you, or found yourself deep in the pain cave, you’ll understand this one.
